What are single-tooth implants?

full mouth journey

Single-tooth implants, as the name implies, are used to replace one missing tooth. They consist of three parts. The first part is the implant “post” or “rod.” This is a screw-shaped piece of titanium, which is surgically implanted in the area where you’ve lost your tooth. Once it heals and bonds with your mouth, it works similarly to a natural tooth root.

The second part is the abutment which is the connector piece that attaches the implant to your porcelain dental crown. This crown is designed to look and feel just like a real tooth, and is permanently attached to the dental implant once it has fully healed and bonded with your mouth.

Together, the implant and dental crown mimic the natural anatomy of your tooth.

Placement Process

Personalized Consultation

01

Every implant journey starts with a comprehensive consultation with our doctors. We’ll use advanced 3D CBCT imaging to get a detailed view of your jaw, bone levels, and surrounding anatomy. From there, we’ll create a custom treatment plan built around your goals, health needs, and budget. If bone or gum grafting is needed to ensure long-term success, we’ll walk you through your options—no guesswork, no pressure.

Precise Implant Placement

02

When it’s time for surgery, you can relax knowing you’re in experienced hands. Our team uses guided technology and real-time imaging to place your implant with unmatched precision. Sedation options are available to make your visit as comfortable as possible, and because everything is done in-house, there’s no bouncing between providers or extended wait times.

Healing and Follow-Up Care

03

Healing typically takes 3–6 months as the implant fuses with your bone in a process called osseointegration. During this time, we’ll see you for follow-ups to monitor your progress and make adjustments if needed. If you're receiving an implant for a front tooth, we will provide an Essix retainer the same day as surgery so you never have to go without your smile.

Your Final Restoration

04

Once healing is complete, we’ll place your final restoration—a beautiful, natural-looking crown, bridge, or full-arch prosthetic designed and crafted in our on-site lab. From bite to brightness, it’s customized just for you, and made to last.

The benefits of
single-tooth implants

30+ year lifespan

With proper care, single-tooth implants will last for the rest of your life. They last much longer than other alternatives like dental bridges and dentures.

Natural look & feel

Single-tooth dental implants are completely indistinguishable from natural teeth. They will look natural when you smile and feel just like real teeth when you eat and speak.

Protects jaw health

Because the dental implant is implanted into your jaw bone, it prevents “bone resorption,” which happens when the jaw bone below a missing tooth is no longer stimulated by chewing and biting. This helps protect your overall oral health.

Easy to clean and maintain

You can treat your single-tooth implant just like a natural tooth. To protect your oral health and your implant, all you need to do is brush twice a day and floss once a day, and see Dr. Tori or Dr. Luis for teeth cleanings and oral exams every six months.

Explore your options for missing teeth

We offer a range of tooth replacement solutions to fit your goals, comfort, and budget. Here’s how they compare—so you can make a confident choice.

Traditional Dentures

  • Fully removable
  • Typically lasts 5-7 years
  • Often require messy adhesives
  • Do not prevent bone loss over time
  • May shift or feel loose when speaking or eating
  • Lower upfront cost, but frequent replacements needed

Implant Snap-InDentures

  • Secured with 2–4 dental implants
  • Greater stability while eating and speaking
  • Helps preserve jawbone density
  • Attachment inserts need replacement annually
  • Mid-range cost with improved function and comfort
  • A good option if you want added support without going fully fixed

Fixed Full-Arch Dental Implants

  • Permanently attached
  • Custom-designed and printed or milled in-house
  • Secured by 4–6 implants per arch
  • Feels and functions like natural teeth
  • Fully preserves jawbone and facial structure
  • Eat what you want—no restrictions
  • Highest upfront investment, but built to last a lifetime
  • Bundled pricing starts at $18,000–$25,000 per arch with flexible payment options
Basil, Patient

“Dr. Tori and Dr. Luis are like family. I wouldn’t go to anyone else. If there’s anything I could say to them, it’s how grateful I am—for helping me return to a place where I don’t have to worry anymore. They changed everything.”

Will I have to go without teeth during the implant process?

No, you won’t leave our office without a smile. In many cases, we’re able to provide a temporary restoration the same day as your surgery—so you can eat, speak, and smile confidently while you heal.

Is oral surgery painful?

Pain levels vary depending on the procedure and individual tolerance. We use sedation and local anesthesia to minimize discomfort during surgery. Post-operative pain is manageable with prescribed medications.
